k.. just finished watching the first game and i can't say i'm happy but i can say i'm not super pissed. They played hard and Griffin brings a whole new kind of energy to the floor. Blake Griffin was a monster and Eric Gordon looks like he can be a star. Honestly, i'm not too sure what to say about the former all stars of the Clippers though. Baron Davis and Chris Kaman just couldn't get it going. I'm hoping that tonight was just a warming up process but this is kinda what it felt like last year also. I'm hoping that BD starts getting more aggressive and take charge of this team. There is no doubt in my mind that Gordon and Griffin are the future but i think Kaman and Davis really need to step up their game to be true leaders of this team. I'm not saying they didn't try but they just gotta get their groove back. Anyway, its kinda early to get too critical but i'm just saying... please step it up guys. I still believe BD can dominate if he wants to and Kaman can still be a beast (when he gets mad... hahah). We just need to put it together but i guess this is a learning phase. Tough loss though when everything looked pretty close throughout until the final minutes when it got out of hand. i think it was almost 6 minutes without scoring a point? Clips need to find a finisher and find one fast.
Aside from that, i was pretty happy with the beginning part of the game though. Great energy and it looked like a new team. Portland is going to give teams problems though. They looked pretty good tonight and i give credit when it'd due. Camby looked nice on the inside and i think gave Kaman some problems and were getting us on the offensive boards.
Gotta say though.. i see massive potential if we can figure this out. I still think there is a good chance for success if they can harness the energy.
